OUR TEA

Steep Mountain sources the highest quality teas, tisanes, and botanical blends from growers and brokers around the globe who have formed on-the-ground relationships with the families who farm and produce our teas. 75% of our teas are either entirely organic or are blended from two or more organic ingredients. Our herbal tisanes use whole botanical ingredients and none of our teas use artificial colors or flavorings of any sort.

OUR VALUES

Our mission is to serve fresh, expertly crafted and procured teas and products in a positive, community-oriented environment. We approach our work—not just as tea purveyors but as connectors of community and conversation—with the idea that tea should be approachable for all. Along with our parent company, Steep Montana LLC, we give time and resources to more than two dozen organizations that make the Gallatin Valley of Montana such a great place to live, recreate, and work. The goal of our giving programs is to support non-profit groups who provide valuable services within our community, including those dedicated to the environment, cultural arts, and social equity.

As a tea company, we see ourselves as stewards of nature and work to reduce waste, integrate sustainable business practices, and minimize our carbon footprint any way we can. Our planet-friendly practices include selling loose leaf tea in pouches made from compostable materials certified to degrade in a home composting environment within a year, partnering with a local composting company to compost all tea leaves and food waste at the tea house, sourcing compostable to-go cups and food wares, and partnering with local environmental non-profits.
